[ISTRT-P2] put a donk on it

podcast — roman david on August 2, 2008 at 11:38 pm

This is a bit of a cop out, to be honest - this one is lacking in banter entirely. Instead, have a mixtape that illustrates the kind of material that has soundtracked my gradual and inevitable decline. You could probably stick it on an actual cassette; it’d be nice to see people playing and enjoying tapes instead of wearing them as jewelery on Snog, Marry, Avoid? while a computer tells you that you’re a slag, so be my guest!

Podcast #3 might come in a few weeks - if you’re my friend and want to bring some musics and words (preferably alcohol too) then give me an encouraging slap in the face. My friend Marcus from the first one is rustling up a ‘zine that will focus on mixtapes he and I have made, alongside some other stuff. Whinging, mainly. Do you want in? Of course you do. Throw us some words and some pictures, please!

A Facebook group is fine too. Might even be used sometime! Have a playlist….

If you like what you hear go and buy the record with pounds or see the band, although in many cases that isn’t possible because they’ve split up or died. A few of these tracks are available for free download; this is also indicated above. Support independent music yadda yadda you should know that already.
